How much notice do I need to give for an order?
You can place your order as far in advance as you wish.  Wedding Cakes I recommend booking as soon as your date and venue have been confirmed as I have limited availability each week and dates can get booked quite quickly. 

Celebration cakes and cupcakes can be booked 6 months in advance. 

However, I do realise some things are required last minute, in this case contact me and I will always try and help if I can.

Is there a minimum order?
Celebration and Novelty cakes = No
Cupcakes = A minimum order of 12 per flavour.

How much do your cakes cost?
Unless otherwise stated for special promotions, all the cakes I make are bespoke and therefore the price varies depending on your requirements. When you call for a consultation' a price will be agreed between us before any cake is made. Visit my Menu & Prices page or click here to view an approximate guideline I have put together.

Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes. A £100 deposit is required to secure your Wedding order and £10 for celebration cakes/cupcakes*. Payment can be taken via Cash, Cheque or Bank Transfer.

*Please note: The deposit is non-refundable 

Do you deliver?

Yes, Wedding cakes are delivered and set-up on the day of your wedding unless otherwise discussed. Delivery is free within a 5 mile radius of my location, a charge is then applicable for additional mileage.

Collection is preferable for celebration cakes and cupcakes. Please contact me for more info.

How long will my cakes stay fresh?
Because my cakes contain no added preservatives it is recommended that you consume them within 3 days.

Please take the time to read the terms and conditions carefully. Nothing contained within these terms and conditions affect your statutory rights as a consumer.



All ingredients used by The Cornish Cakery are of the highest quality. Although every effort will be made to minimise the risk, cakes that do not include nuts, may contain traces of nuts.



All cakes are handmade and although every effort will be made, The Cornish Cakery cannot guarantee the exact colour match or design and therefore differences may occur. If design elements should become unavailable, a close substitute will be sourced without consultation. Celebration cakes that are collected from my premises should be inspected prior to leaving, once the cake has been taken from the premises I am no longer accountable for it.



You agree to pay The Cornish Cakery the price as quoted on your signed Order Form. All our prices exclude VAT. You will be notified if the company becomes VAT eligible.


Booking and Deposit

All orders and booking dates are only secured with a £100 deposit for wedding cakes/ £10 deposit for celebration cakes, which are non-refundable. Once deposits are received and cleared your booking date will then be fully confirmed.


Final Payment

Full balance will be due by the date stated on your Sales Invoice, or unless otherwise agreed by. Failure to make payment of the remaining balance may result in your order being cancelled and your date being made available to someone else.


Late or Non-Payments

Late or non-payments could result in loss of your booking date. In the event of a late or non-payment, the order will not be processed until alternative funding has been agreed and payment made in full. In these circumstances, subsequent completion of the order on the required date may not be guaranteed and become Subject To Availability.


Changes to Date, Venue or Design

  1. Date

The Cornish Cakery will make every effort to accommodate your changes, without any additional charges, provided sufficient notice is given and that we are able to provide a cake for the re-arranged date. However, if we are fully booked on your new date and cannot provide the cake(s), it will not be possible to refund your £100 deposit. The limiting factor with any cake provision is usually the cake set-up. As a compromise, it may be possible to provide you with a cake prior to your wedding date, but under these circumstances it will become your responsibility to collect, deliver and set-up the cake(s) at the venue.


  1. Venue

Provided sufficient notice is given, there is generally no problem with a change of venue.


  1. Design

Any changes to design may be subject to additional charges. Changes required less than 8 weeks prior to delivery cannot be guaranteed although every effort will be made to accommodate them. Colours will be made as close to the desired colour as possible.



On the day of collection, your order may be collected at a pre-arranged time, as agreed on your Order Form. Should you wish to change the collection details we will do our best to accommodate, but cannot guarantee availability.

We will deliver at the time and address agreed with the customer. If we cannot deliver because there is no one to receive to cake(s) or the address provided is wrong, the cake(s) will be returned to our premises and held for a period of 24 hours.


Delivery/Setting Up of your Cake at a Venue

Cakes should be inspected on receipt to ensure that they were not damaged in transit, as you (the client) or any third party taking delivery, (e.g. hotel/wedding planner etc) shall be solely responsible for any damage to the cake(s) which occurs (i) after the delivery of your cake(s) and/or (ii) as a result of failure to follow any instructions/advise given and/or (iii) further transportation of the cake(s).


Final Note: It is recommended that you take out wedding insurance to cover any eventualities.
